The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is pursuing the righteous path of humanity.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's proposal to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past ten years, China and countries around the world have adhered to the original aspiration and worked hand in hand to promote international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. This initiative has achieved fruitful results and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements by more than 150 countries and over 30 international organizations. It has also established more than 20 multilateral platforms in various professional fields, and seen the implementation of numerous landmark projects and people-benefiting initiatives.
The Belt and Road Initiative follows the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits. It crosses different civilizations, cultures, social systems, and stages of development, opening up new paths and frameworks for international cooperation. It embodies the common denominator for the shared development of mankind, as well as the vision of connecting the world and achieving shared prosperity.
The achievements are precious, and the experience is enlightening for the future. Looking back at the extraordinary journey of the Belt and Road Initiative, we can draw the following conclusions: Firstly, humankind is a community with a shared future. A better world will lead to a better China, and a better China will contribute to global progress. Secondly, only through win-win cooperation can we accomplish great things. Despite facing various challenges, as long as there is a desire for cooperation and coordinated actions, as long as mutual respect, support, and achievements are fostered, common development and prosperity can be realized. Lastly, the spirit of the Silk Road, which emphasizes peace, cooperation, openness, inclusiveness, learning, mutual understanding, and mutual benefit, is the most important source of strength for the Belt and Road Initiative. The Initiative advocates for everyone to work together, help each other succeed, pursue both personal and others' well-being, and promote connectivity and mutual benefit, aiming for common development and win-win cooperation.
The Belt and Road Initiative originates from China, but its achievements and opportunities belong to the world. The past 10 years have proven that the Initiative stands on the right side of history, conforms to the logic of progress, and follows the righteous path. This is the key to its deepening, solidifying success and the constant driving force for the steady advancement of cooperation under the Initiative. At present, the world, era, and history are changing in unprecedented ways. In an uncertain and unstable world, countries urgently need dialogue to bridge differences, unity to counter challenges, and cooperation to promote development. The significance of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative is increasingly apparent. By adhering to goal-orientation and action-orientation, holding onto our commitments, and diligently implementing the blueprint, we can advance towards a new stage of high-quality development under the Initiative. This will inject more certainty and positive energy into world peace and development.
The unity of knowledge and action is the consistent approach of China in engaging in international cooperation, and it is also a distinctive feature of the Belt and Road Initiative. In the keynote speech, President Xi Jinping announced eight actions to support high-quality co-construction of the Belt and Road. From building a three-dimensional interconnection network to supporting the construction of an open world economy; from promoting practical cooperation to advancing green development; from driving technological innovation to supporting people-to-people exchanges; and from constructing a clean governance system to improving international cooperation mechanisms under the Belt and Road Initiative, each concrete measure and cooperation plan exemplifies the important guiding principles of consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, as well as openness, greenness, cleanliness, and sustainable benefits. These measures and plans will promote high-quality co-construction of the Belt and Road at a larger scale, deeper level, and higher standard, and continue to move towards a future of common development and prosperity.
Throughout the history of human development, only through self-improvement and unremitting efforts can we harvest abundant fruits and establish everlasting achievements that bring benefits to the world. The Belt and Road Initiative has completed its first vibrant decade and is now heading towards the next golden decade. The future is promising, but the tasks at hand are arduous. By carrying forward past achievements and forging ahead with determination, by continuously deepening international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, we can embrace higher quality and a higher level of development. In doing so, we will be able to realize modernization for countries around the world, construct an open, inclusive, interconnected, and collectively developed world, and jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
