The Replacement Method for Oil Seals in Excavators
The replacement method for oil seals in excavators varies depending on the model and location, but generally follows these steps:
I. Replacement of Oil Seals in the Central Slewing Joint
- Remove the Fixing Screws: First, remove the fixing screws related to the central slewing joint.
- Rotate the Lower Transmission Case: Use a hydraulic small frame cart that can be lifted and lowered to support the lower transmission case and rotate it to a certain angle for better access to the oil seal.
- Block the Oil Return Pipe: Use an oil cutter to block the oil return pipe to prevent a large amount of hydraulic oil from flowing out when pulling out the core of the central slewing joint.
- Pull Out the Core: Hook the iron hooks of the puller onto the oil pipe connectors on both sides of the core, use a jack to support the vertical transmission shaft, and then lift the jack to pull out the core for oil seal replacement.
- Push Back the Core: After replacing the oil seal, use a sleeve to support the core of the central slewing joint and use a jack to push it back to its original position.
- Reassemble the Parts: Reassemble the other parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
II. Replacement of Oil Seals in the Boom Cylinder
- Stabilize the Excavator: Stabilize the excavator, retract the arm to the bottom, lower the boom, and flatten the bucket onto the ground.
- Attach Steel Wire Rope: Attach a steel wire rope to the boom and a shorter one to the upper end of the boom cylinder. Hook the iron hooks of the chain block onto the two steel wire ropes and then tighten the chains.
- Remove the Boom Cylinder: Pull out the pin at the head of the boom cylinder piston rod, disconnect the inlet and outlet oil pipes, and place the boom cylinder on a platform.
- Pull Out the Piston Rod: Remove the circlip and key from the boom cylinder, insert rubber strips into the groove, and put suitable steel wire ropes around the arm arm at the same height as the boom cylinder and the piston rod pin hole of the boom cylinder. Connect them respectively to the chain block and then tighten the chains to pull out the piston rod.
- Replace the Oil Seal: After replacing the oil seal, reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
Please note that when replacing oil seals, ensure the use of correct tools and methods to avoid damaging other components or creating safety hazards. If unsure how to perform the replacement, seek the help of professional maintenance personnel.
